How can you help save the world one Boston at a time
While we always need more foster homes there are other ways to help us help Bostons.
Shelter Pulls
Many times we are notified that a Boston has been picked up by a municipal animal control agency (aka "the pound"). We have many contacts who keep on the lookout for Bostons who have been designated as strays. These agencies usually give the owners just a few days to claim their dog before allowing them to be released to us or designated as adoptable.. but only for a short period of time.
Unfortunately, many of these same agencies euthanize unclaimed dogs simply because they do not have room to house and feed them until adopted.
It is imperative that we have folks available to go to these agencies and pull them as soon as allowed. Sometimes these Bostons are in rural areas and we cannot arrange transport to a foster for a day or so. If you would be willing to travel to, pull and temporarily house, we can use your help.
Transport Assistance
We are always looking for volunteers to drive transport for the Boston's from their person or shelters. Most transports are on the weekends. We try to keep each leg in the transport to under two hours with most being about an hour. That way no one has to travel too far.
Adoption Awareness Events
Occasionally we are asked to participate in adoption awareness events. We need people that understand what we do and why we are different from most rescues.
We also need people to assist with fund raising, any ideas are welcome.
