Foster
We need foster homes. We almost ALWAYS have a waiting list for Boston's to come to us. We can help more dogs if people will help us. We foster dogs from a few weeks to a few months, depending on their needs. Many of the dogs that come to us are from good homes that can no longer care for them for a variety of reasons. These would be explained to you if you choose to foster with us. We share any information we have when you accept the foster. Then you learn more and share with us. When all vet needs and any behavior issues are corrected and when you think they are ready for a new home, we will find one together. We'll post them on our site and Petfinder. We screen all applicants before sending their information to you. We'll have conversations and together decide on the best possible choice for any dog you foster.
Together we can help more Boston's.
The rescue pays for all vet care needed for each Boston you foster. We provide a harness, a crate if needed and available. We also provide a blanket and a toy. These things, except for the crate go with the Boston to their new home. That way they have things that are their own. You as a foster provide love, food and training if needed. Love is all most Boston's need. A decent place to live, human companionship and love. Many of the Boston's that come to us have never really known love, they may have come from a shelter or a puppy mill or just a home where they never lived indoors as part of a family. They just need love and a safe place to live. If you can open your heart and home and give a second chance to a Boston in need together we can make a real difference.
All fosters must complete both the adoption application and foster application or already have an adoption application on file with ODBTR.
Donate
100% of each tax deductible donation goes to support our rescue efforts. It's all about the Boston's. Please list "Gift" when donating that way PayPal does not charge us a % of your donation. Every little bit helps! We give our rescues all the love, attention, pet meds, and veterinary care and help they need. All donations are welcome, we would love donations of holistic foods and coupons for holistic food. Gift cards for Petsmart and Petco and any web based pet supply site are great, too!
If you can't make a financial donation – toys, blankets, dog beds, harnesses and leashes would be wonderful. We are always in need of these items as they help make our dogs feel loved and cared for.

At this time Paypal has suspended the recurring/monthly donation program. Those in the program now need do nothing. Anyone wishing to donate monthly will need to donate each month through the button above or directly to our Paypal account address [email protected] . If you use the email option please use Friends and Family option so Paypal won't charge us a fee for the donation. Paypal charges us a fee for any donation that is not made directly to odbtr1@gmail using the Friends and Family option. I will update here and post the new information on our Facebook page when Paypal sorts out a new monthly donation option.
Volunteer
While we always need more foster homes there are other ways to help us help Bostons.
Shelter Pulls
Many times we are notified that a Boston has been picked up by a municipal animal control agency (aka "the pound"). We have many contacts who keep on the lookout for Bostons who have been designated as strays. These agencies usually give the owners just a few days to claim their dog before allowing them to be released to us or designated as adoptable.. but only for a short period of time.
Unfortunately, many of these same agencies euthanize unclaimed dogs simply because they do not have room to house and feed them until adopted.
It is imperative that we have folks available to go to these agencies and pull them as soon as allowed. Sometimes these Bostons are in rural areas and we cannot arrange transport to a foster for a day or so. If you would be willing to travel to, pull and temporarily house, we can use your help.
Transport Assistance
We are always looking for volunteers to drive transport for the Boston's from their person or shelters. Most transports are on the weekends. We try to keep each leg in the transport to under two hours with most being about an hour. That way no one has to travel too far.
Adoption Awareness Events
Occasionally we are asked to participate in adoption awareness events. We need people that understand what we do and why we are different from most rescues.
We also need people to assist with fund raising, any ideas are welcome.
